Mar 26 Special Needs Stats and News- Our Seven Senses

There are seven senses: Sight, hearing, touch, taste, smell, vestibular, and proprioception. Children with sensory processing disorder (SPD) react inappropriately to their environment. This can be very difficult for their families to understand and creates even bigger challenges for the children at school. SPD is a disorder that kids with Autism, ADHD and Bipolar may also have and can explain some of the similar behaviours.

Sensory processing challenges can show as over or under sensitivities. Each person is different. Many methods and treatments can help with sensory processing difficulties.
