It is good that you have discovered how helpful knitting is for you to allow you to listen effectively. You will be able to give suggestions to your daughter so she can also learn to cope. It is good that she has a teacher this year who understands...here's hoping that teachers in the following school years will be the same.Pierrette and Lorna dEntremonthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12259446523830126401noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4908525929870648096.post-57346765224166551122010-11-07T00:17:32.389-03:002010-11-07T00:17:32.389-03:00I am a 38 year old woman with ADD, but I was not d...I am a 38 year old woman with ADD, but I was not diagnosed untill my daughter was in kindergarten. Se has a little something in her pocket all the time. Sometimes it is as simple as an eraser top and sometimes it is a tiny toy. Fortunately, THIS year, she has a teaacher who understands.

To me this is a DUH kind of thing, as in duh, I need to fidget to focus! Be that counter intuitive to everyone else... As an adult I find that knitting while I'm listing helps me to hear and understand what is being said much more effectively. I have trained my finders to find the stitches and even catch mistakes while I'm doing something else, so I don't even have to loook. If I don't have a fidget I am twitching all the time and my mind is constantly distracted by my body and everything else around me!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04440694520775692850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4908525929870648096.post-87614743068751976142010-10-12T21:01:49.612-03:002010-10-12T21:01:49.612-03:00Thanks Jean for your comment.
